The May issue of Clay Target Nation is jam-packed with shooting tips, event coverage and more.

In our popular “Training Tips” columns, Gil and Vicki Ash go through the science of exactly why a good night’s sleep is essential for good shooting, and instructor Tim Short has advice for shooting skeet on windy days. We’ve also got a profile of young up-and-coming shooter Connor Daniel.

Tim Le Cras dives into building physical and mental endurance, including dealing with the heat, working on resilience and dealing with less-than-optimal conditions. We often talk about the pre-shot routine, but in the May issue, Marty Fischer goes over details of what should be in your post-shot routine and why it’s so important that you develop one. We’ve got some skeet claycations for reverse snowbirds and an introduction to the NSSF’s “First Shots Clay Targets” program, as well as coverage of the Triple J Classic and the FITASC Slam and Arizona State Championship.

This issue also contains NSSA and NSCA All-American lists. Finally, we pay our respects to skeet and sporting clays legend and former NSSA President Hal duPont, who passed away earlier this year.
